Privacy Policy
PlateShot is operated by Bartlett Group LLC, a New Jersey limited liability company in the United States. This policy explains what we collect when you use plateshot.app, why we collect it, and the choices you have. Questions? Email contact@barlettgroupllc.com.
1. Who we are
Bartlett Group LLC ("PlateShot", "we", "us") is the controller of the personal information described here. You can reach us any time at contact@barlettgroupllc.com.
2. What we collect
- Account information — your email address and authentication credentials, handled by our authentication provider. We never see your password.
- Photos you upload — the raw food photos you submit to the free demo or to your account, and the enhanced images we generate from them.
- Brand settings — your restaurant name, logo image and any text or design choices you save into templates.
- Usage data — how many enhancements you have used in the current period, so we can apply your plan's allowance, plus basic technical logs.
- Marketing emails — the email address you give us for the waitlist or blog subscription.
- Analytics — page views and interaction events collected through Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics.
3. How we handle your photos
Free demo uploads. Photos you upload to the homepage demo are sent to our AI provider for processing and returned to you. We do not store demo photos on our servers.
Account uploads. When you are signed in, your uploads and the enhanced images we generate are stored in your library so you can return to them, re-use them in templates and download them. They stay there until you delete them or close your account.
We also run a quick automated check to confirm an upload is a food photo before enhancing it. We do not use your photos to train our own models.
4. Why we use it
- To provide the service: enhance your photos, build templates, store your library and apply your plan's allowance.
- To operate your account, authenticate you and send transactional email such as password resets.
- To take payment for a paid subscription and keep records of it.
- To send product updates and marketing email, where you have asked for them.
- To understand how the site is used so we can improve it.
- To keep the service secure, prevent abuse and enforce our Terms — including limiting how many free demo enhancements a device can run.
5. Service providers we share with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with providers who help us run PlateShot, and only as far as they need it:
- Our cloud backend provider, which hosts our database, file storage and authentication.
- AI providers that perform the image enhancement and the food-photo classification check.
- Our email delivery provider, which sends transactional and marketing email from notify.plateshot.app.
- Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics, for website analytics.
- Our payment processor, which handles subscription billing and card details. We never receive your full card number.
- Social platforms — Instagram, Facebook and Google — only when you choose to connect an account and publish to it.
We may also disclose information where we are legally required to, or to protect our rights and the safety of our users.
7. How long we keep it
- Account data, photos and template designs: while your account is active, and until you delete the item or the account.
- Demo photos: not retained after processing.
- Waitlist and blog subscription emails: until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove you.
- Billing records: as long as tax and accounting rules require.
8. Your rights
Whatever country you are in, you can ask us to:
- Give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct information that is wrong or out of date.
- Delete your account, your stored photos or your marketing subscription.
- Stop sending you marketing email — every marketing email also has an unsubscribe link.
Email contact@barlettgroupllc.com and we will respond within 30 days. You can delete individual photos yourself from your library at any time.
9. If you are in the EU or UK
Under the GDPR and UK GDPR, our legal bases for processing are:
- Performance of a contract — running your account, enhancing your photos and storing your library.
- Legitimate interests — keeping the service secure, preventing abuse of the free trial and improving the product.
- Consent — marketing email and analytics cookies, which you can withdraw at any time.
- Legal obligation — keeping billing and tax records.
You also have the rights to restriction, objection and data portability, and the right not to be subject to solely automated decisions with legal effect (we make none).
PlateShot is operated from the United States and our providers process data there, so your information is transferred outside the EEA and UK. Where required, those transfers rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK Addendum.
If you believe we have handled your data improperly you can complain to your local supervisory authority, or the UK Information Commissioner's Office.
10. Security
Data is encrypted in transit, access to stored photos is scoped to your own account, and administrative access is limited to those who need it. No online service can promise perfect security, so please use a strong, unique password.
11. Children
PlateShot is a business tool and is not intended for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us data, email us and we will delete it.
12. Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our practices change and revise the "last updated" date at the top. If a change is significant we will let account holders know by email.
